Naples is a point of departure for visiting the Campania region. This metropolis even today has kept the signs of its millenarian history. Napoli, the chief town of Campania, it is involving and seducing, so that if you will visit it, it will appear like no other cities in the world: its nearly central position in the gulf of Naples and the dominant shape of the Vesuvio at its shoulders, would be enough to rendering it unique. But it is when entering into the city and knowing its culture, its traditions, its food delicacies that you will fall in love with it.
In the south you will find the fabulous Positano and Amalfi Coast, with its colors that go from the intense blue of the sea to the green of the hills covered by olives and lemon trees, to the typical white colored houses. The island of Capri rises in the gulf of Naples and it bosts a rich social life, its faraglioni and its coves as the most famous Grotta Azzurra. Finally the coast of Cilento, renowned for its natural beauties and the pure quality of the sea.
The archaeological zones in Campania are so many and arrogant: inimitabile is Pompei, the ancient Roman city perfectly conserved for the eruption of the Vesuvio that it submergeeed it, but also Ercolano, Paestum, Cuma, Santa Maria Capua Vetere are the perfect images of the classic past of the Campania region. A little far away you will find the Reggia and the garden of Caserta, a magnificent palace constructed in the second half of the seven hundred and intentional wanted by the Borbone family in order to testify the power of the Regno di Napoli. |
