Crotone is one of the greatest industrial cities in Calabria and the only port in the region on the Ionian Sea. The city is situated north of cape Colonna in the gulf of Taranto along the Calabrian Ionic coast and it has modern bathing centres and sport activities. It is the oldest province in Magna Graecia, suspended forever between time and magic, where the sea is a "cornflower".

The historical center of Crotone is characterized by small alleys and it is enclosed in the 16tn century town walls. The Dome of Crotone was built up in the 11th century and it has been restructured many times. In the inside it  conserves the sacred image of the Black Madonna of capo Colonna that is said it has been brought in Crotone from the East during the first years of the Christianity. The Castle is a 16^th century fortress was  built in a polygonal plant with cylindrical towers and bastions, it hosts the Civic Museum of Crotone which has founding of the ancient Kroton. The city has an Archaeological State Museum and noble buildings such as Morelli Palace and Barraco Palace.

Cutro  stretches on the hills between the rivers Esaro and Tacina in the province of Crotone and it has known in the last years a tourist vital activity thanks to the presence of various vacation villages and hotel club. Its Marina is set on a sandy golden beach preceded from greens eucalyptuses. From navy until the inhabited center tortuose roads between hills are covered and in country it is the ancient part to attract the attention of the visitor, that it remains fascinated from the country palaces and the old churches of unexpected beauty.  It is easy to find fresh fish and usually it is prepared simply in order to better exalt the natural taste.
