The peculiar thermal spring of San Pellegrino was known since the Middle Ages, but it was the construction of its first establishment in the middle of the XIX century. that gave to the small Val Brenbana village, the modern development.
Valle Brembana takes its name from the Brembo river, that crosses the valley in all its length and the San Pellegrino Terme is exactly disposed on both sides of the river, approximately 24 Kms north of Bergamo, the nearest main town.
Rural center until to the end of the 800 Sant Pellegrino Terme has become today one of the most renown thermal cities in Lombardy.
Its thermal center is famous for the optimal therapeutic "cures"of its sources, particularly effective for uricemia and renal calculosis deasisis.
The actual city center arises from the fusion with some rural buildings of the lower valley, o the Brembo river shores and San Pelligrino Terme boasts and elegant chrming setting with beautiful avenues, many water fountains, shaded gardens and beatiful palaces.
