Sale Marasino is a tourist resort, an agricultural and industrial center, which lies in a charming location on the Eastern bank of Lake Iseo, in the province of Brescia. A pleasant small city where tourism has developed not simply to its mild climate or the vicinity of Montisola, the island in the middle of the lake, but also thanks to its beautiful lakeside promenade, to the panoramic ends that it offers going up along the roads that get to Conche and Gandizzano and thanks to its cultural history.
The small city of Sale Marasino introduces a roman origin, as it has been testified from the archaeological foundings in its territory. In the Middle Ages it was joined to Brescia vicissitudes, while in 1337 Sale Marasino was a Visconti territory. From 1427 to 1797 it belonged to the Republic of Venice, except a short period during which Sale Marasino was a Martinengo feudal possession.
Of particular artistic interest is the Parochial church of San Zenone, for sure one of the most beautiful churches in the area of Lake Iseo, with its majestic inside and frescoes of baroque style which have been realized by Giovanni Zanardi and on the apse by Francesco Monti.
