Bracciano is a small city in the north of Rome that is set on the southern rivers of the homonymous lake and it is a renowned tourist locality thanks to its natural beauties and the rich artistic heritage. The village rises in a zone inhabited since the Etruscan age, but this area had a great importance in Renaissance, when became property of the Orsini family and later on of the Odescalchi.
The symbol of Bracciano is the imposing Orsini-Odescalchi castle that dominates all the hamlet and which is considered one of the most beautiful castles of Italy for its architectonic characteristics and the optimal state of conservation. In its inside tourists can admire many historical furnishings, arms, armors, paintings and archaeological finds coming from the near sites of Caere Vetus and Alsium.
