Hotel Sappada.

Sappada is a pretty locality in province of Belluno to the border between Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Austria, situated in a wide valley in the east part of Dolomites. The surrounding landscape is typically mounts, with majestic summits as Monte Peralba (2700 m) where the source of the river Piave is born at its feet, coniferous woods, meadows, waterfall and small lakes.
The village is divided into fifteen hamlets, some are recent and others, which are older, preserve many antique wooden houses, which are remained intact.
The most probable thesis on the origins of Sappada, is that the first inhabitants came from a valley of Austria in the XI century and nowaday the village conserve the dialect, the traditions and the folklore of that period.

The main source of Sappada is tourism, be it in summer or winter and there is a great attention in tourists welcoming and in the cure of hotels.
The summer season attracts many tourists which come simply to rest, take in the fresh air and relax with family and friends.
For who wants to practice some sports, there are many excursions, both on foot that in mountain-bike, towards the numerous mountain hut or the summits of the mounts that encircle this valley. All the paths are always well signal and of every difficulty.
Remaining in the village we can practice many activities like soccer, tennis, golf and for the passionate of fishing there is a beautiful small lake.

In winter the valley of Sappada is covered with a a cloak of pure white and the village becomes a renowned skiing resort.
There are 21 km of skiing and snowboard tracks for all abilities, 4 modern lift systems, and for who wants to practice cross country ski there is an evocative paths of about 20 km across the woods of the valley.
For the children it has been created the great Nevelandia park on the snow with many attractions as bobsleigh, slides and skating.
A very important appointment for the village, that attracts a lot of tourists, is the Carnevale Sappadino that has ancient origins, and that takes place during the three sundays preceding Lent.
