Hotel Rignano sull'Arno.

The village of Rignano sull'Arno is situated in the upper Valdarno, between the mptorway exit of Incisa in Valdarno and Pontassieve, at a short distance from the Tuscany main town of Florence.
The territory of Rignano is renown and appreciated for the presence of numerous rainessance villas, churches, parrishes, monastries, famous fashion companies outlets and an important industrial zone.

Of a particular interest is the Villa di Torre a Cona with its magnificent park, which was constructed over an earlier medieval tower that was owned by the Rinuccini family until 1848 and later on it passed into the hands of the Trivulzio marquises of Milan, who in turn sold it in 1882 to baron Padoa.
The building of the Villas has vast sizes and  it is set on a slightly higher ground than the surrounding estate, dominating the entyre landascape.
The entrance alleys of the Villa di Torre a Cona is connected to the driveway by two terraces that lead down from the double flight of steps and its park stretches out to the left-hand side of the villa, retaining its original appearance. It was built in the late 17th and early 18th centuries and the park consists mainly of tall cypresses, holm-oaks and other occasional oak trees.
The park is laid out in a characteristic diamond shape, from the centre of which avenues radiate out to the four corners and to the centres of the sides, where there stand mythological and allegorical statues, designed by Giuseppe Cantini.
Two fine examples of Atlantic cedar trees stand proudly  in front of the villa and they are the only non-local trees on the estate.
