Hotel Numana.

Numana is a small coastal town in the province of Ancona, located in the heart of the Marche region. The locality lies at the foot of the promontory of Monte Conero and it overlooks one of the most beautiful stretch of coast in the Adriatic sea. The town is divided into two main districts. The upper part is the oldest and it is characterized by narrow alleys on which overlook the typical houses in white limestone. The lower part, more modern, is a youth and well equipped seaside resort, with hotels and fashionable places set a stone's throw from the sea.

The origins of the village are very old, since as early as the sixth century BC from its port passed several greek boats directed to the northern region of Italy. In 269 BC it became a roman colony and for a long time it was one of the most important trade centers of the Adriatic sea. In medieval times the town experienced a slow decline, partly because of an earthquake in 558 that destroyed a large part of the villagge. In early '900 Numana was chosen as the summer residence for many nobles in the area, particularly appreciated for the natural beauty that this stretch of coastline offer.

Nowaday Numana is a tourist destination that offers the right mix of old and new. Along the coast there are modern lidos and the town also boasts a well equipped tourist port. This area is also renowned for its nightlife, thanks to the many discoes and trendy clubs that are in the nearby hamlet of Marcelli. The ancient village still retains the typical medieval aspect and from the central square, you can admire a magnificent view. Also worth visiting the Shrine, which houses inside a beautiful wooden crucifix dating to the twelfth century, that is considered one of the most important works of the Christian culture.
