Marotta is a small town in the municipality of Mondolfo which is located in the northern part of Marche region. The village lies in the beautiful valley of the river Cesano, in an area characterized by green hills that slope gently toward the coast. Marotta was until a few years ago a simple fishing village and its economy was based only on fishing. Nowaday this village has been considerably enlarged and it is now a well-known seaside resort destination. Its inhabitants, however, have maintained their traditions and even today you can see fishermen intent in their activities on small boats. At sunset, tourists can take part in the trafficking of fish according to the local usage or dine in restaurants or at characteristics festivals held in the summer.

For younger Marotta offers many discoes and fashionable place very popular in the summer nights. For those seeking tranquillity this area offers, in addition to the sea, even a series of small villages full of treasures to be discovered. One of the most important is certainly Mondolfo, characteristic medieval town a few kilometers from Marotta. The village is enclosed within walls and on the streets of the centre can be admired churches and palaces dating mainly from the Renaissance. Also worth visiting are the church of Sant'Agostino, romanesque style, that inside houses valuable works of art.
