The parliamentary republic of Croatia stretches along the Adriatic coast, wedged between Slovenia, Bosnia and Hungary. The territory of Croatia, which is characterized by different climatic, geographical and cultural features is really various and ranges from the Pannonian lowlands, situated in the east of the country, where the rivers Drava and Sava flow, to the mountainous region of the Dinaric Alps, that separates the Adriatic from the Danube basin, to the Adriatic coast.

The wealth of touristic resources of Croatia lies precisely in the heterogeneity of the landscape. From its national parks, such as Plitvice National Park, where sixteen lakes are connected by a series of waterfalls, and National Park Paklenica, to the  beautiful beaches and the clear Adriatic sea.

The 5835 kilometers of coastline and the 1,185 islands, of which only 50 are inhabited, are the main attraction of Croatia. Just to name a few, remember the island of Brac, Hvar, Korcula, Krk, Pag, Rab and Losinj, each one with its own unique characteristics and  always different nuances.

However, without necessarily having to land on an island, the Adriatic coast of Croatia hosts charming villages like Rovinj, Porec, Umag, Pula, Split and Baska Voda, which rise along the coast of Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia, the three coastal regions that you encounter respectively travelling from north to south along the Croatian coast.

Thanks to its historic and artistic heritage, Croatia is not only a summer destination for a vacation of just sea and sun. The whole country is indeed rich in artistic monuments dating back to different ages, from Roman ruins of the Diocletian Palace in Split, the old town of Dubrovnik, from Pula's amphitheatre to the Euphrasian Basilica in Porec, one of best preserved examples of Byzantine architecture. St. Anastasia' s Cathedral and St Chrysogonus's church in Zadar are important examples of Romanesque art.
