Piedmont is the most western region in Italy and  its name comes from the fact that it literally lies "at the feet of mountains". The chain of the Alps encircles this charming region from three sides and in some areas it slopes down quickly in the Po river plain.

Finally Turin, the main town in Piedmont, with that noble air for having been the court of the Savoia royal family and for a short period also the capital of Italy. A beautiful city with its splendid palaces in Baroque style, hosting one the most important Egyptian museum in the world.

The renown gastronomic tradition complete the region wide tourist offer and it obviously also means the local wine tasting, some of world-wide reputation, as Barbera and Barolo that have rendered Piedmont region famous all over the world.
