The Saturnia Residence is set in the small village of Poggio Murella, only a couple of kilometres form the Saturnia thermal baths and the natural pools where warm water rich in suplhure flows. The residence is the result of the recent revamping of a typical tuscan country house, carried out with passion, dedication and attention to details by the family who runs it, native of northern Italy but devoted to Saturnia and its land from decades. Thanks to its position, on top of the hill where the village is located, one can experience the sight dominating the Maremma land, and get lost in wonder by the colours of the surrounding landscape or by the nuances of the sunsets that in every season enframe this corner of Tuscany. In these places one rediscovers the taste of life marked by nature’s rhythms, as well as the flavours of genuine foods and wines as the Morellino di Scansano or the Brunello di Montalcino. The Saturnia Residence delights its guests with breakfast based quality specialities, home-made cakes and fruit marmalades.
This bed and breakfast has been renewed keeping the canons of the typical Tuscan rural buildings, enhancing the floors in terracotta tiles or the brick-vaulted ceilings of its five rooms. Each room has been furnished with its own style and decors, but all of them are provided with bath room and heating, as well as comforts such as minibar, TV and hairdryer. For those who wish to spend a romantic stay in a unique environment, rooms with beds in wrought iron (typical of the rustic tuscan furniture) or canopied bed are available. Discounted rates are offered for guests who stay for more than two nights or during the week.
The Saturnia Residence is an ideal bed and breakfast to spend your holidays in the Saturnia area, famous for the warm sulphureous water of its spas, renowned since the Roman age. Well known are the Gorello waterfalls, where the water, by flowing down the slopes, has given birth to natural pools where you can restore both your body and your spirit. You have to experience bathing in the thermal water during summer evenings, with the starry night being the background of your most complete relax. Or you can plunge in the warm thermal waters in late autumn rather than at the beginning of spring...
Having this for base, you can explore the tuscan part of Maremma, heading for evocative villages such as Roccalbegna, Sorano, the peculiar town of Pitigliano and the enchanting Sovana, discovering fascinating places and savoury local speciality, including pecorino cheese and various kinds of meat. Or else, within an hour you can reach Mount Amiata, for excursions in summer and skiing in winter, or again the coast ranging from Castiglione della Pescaia to Argentario, and bathe in the clear sea of the numerous creeks and beaches that the seaside area can offer.

* coming from North: on the Autostrada A1 (Bologna-Firenze), take the Firenze-Certosa exit, and follow for Siena and then Grosseto. Once at Roselle, then drive towards Scansano-Saturnia.
* coming from South: once out of the Autostrada Roma-Civitavecchia, drive on the Aurelia National Road (SS1) and reach Montalto di Castro; at Km 111 turn following Manciano-Saturnia road signs.
