Hotel San Lino was originally built as a convent in 1480 and remained as such until 1982 when it became an hotel. The building maintains a certain mystic aspect of its original "life" thanks to specialized renovations which have helped to enhance its historic charm whilst introducing necessary modern day comforts.
All the rooms have been created from the original nuns' sleeping quarters.
Distributed over 3 floors, the rooms are subdivided into two categories: standard and superior.
The standard rooms are located on the first floor of the hotel and are furnished in Tuscan "arte povera" style. This linear and unfussy style of furniture, typical to the area, corresponds with the wish to retain the simplicity of the original monastic atmosphere. All rooms however, are equipped with mini-bar, direct dial telephone line, colour television with satellite channels, air conditioning, en-suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer.
The superior rooms are situated on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the hotel and are in a classic-continental style. Refined and elegant, the rooms have been furnished with care and attention being paid to the smallest detail: cherry wood furniture, wall to wall carpet, curtain drapes. The high standard of these rooms is complimented by the numerous comforts which can be found within: mini-bar, direct dial telephone line, colour television with satellite channels, air conditioning, en-suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer.
Made up of three elegantly furnished areas, the hotel restaurant "Le Monache" provides a perfect setting in which to enjoy an intimate dinner for two or an evening with friends.
Depending on the time of year it is possible to choose between the formula ?half board? and/or our ŕ la carte menu.
The Hotel offers its guests numerous facilities which have been studied in order to provide the maximum comfort and ease. In an adjacent building, a private and ample garage offers the most practical solution to park your car and discover Volterra.
"Internet point" can be found tucked away in a discreet corner near to the reception area on the ground floor and opposite, a small bar from where to order drinks, to be consumed in the bar area, in the restaurant or in the internal courtyard.
On the first floor of the hotel one can find access to the garden and sun terrace. Here, surrounded only by tranquillity, it is possible to relax on a sun bed or maybe having a swim in the pool.
